My name is Jodie McCrystal and I am currently at Dundee University studying Interior and Environmental design. This course is a mixture of interior design, architecture, lighting, furniture and conceptual design. So far throughout this course I have thoroughly enjoyed the furniture and lighting projects and would be interested in taking the knowledge I have gained during these projects further. I am currently in my final year and working towards my degree. I am working on lighting for my mini/major thesis project.

1st year - shed project

1st year project- Journey box

The Journey project was to take a book or poem and use it to create a journey through a box. The idea was to use the feelings when reading the book or poem to create the journey to a reading space within the box.

The poem that I chose was 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe

I made a model of my journey box, and then took photographs of different stages within the journey. I then used Photoshop to create photo montage style images of the journey for my presentation.

1st year group project

This project was a group project, which I took part in during first year

The brief was to design a piece of furniture for primary school children that incorporated learning. This design provides a fun seat which allows the child to sit and do homework as well as play. The 'Gobble' would be made from a memory foam type material that would give comfort as well as support, it would also incorporate a writing surface for leaning on.
