About Me

Dundee, United Kingdom
My name is Jodie McCrystal and I am currently at Dundee University studying Interior and Environmental design. This course is a mixture of interior design, architecture, lighting, furniture and conceptual design. So far throughout this course I have thoroughly enjoyed the furniture and lighting projects and would be interested in taking the knowledge I have gained during these projects further. I am currently in my final year and working towards my degree. I am working on lighting for my mini/major thesis project.

Third year projects

Third year hotel project

The St James hotel project was to redesign a hotel room to 5* standards incorporating some kind of interactive element/elements

Below is the final presentation board

Third year - Gide project
Whinny Brae in Broughty ferry, Dundee is a very steep hill behind a school which is used for access for the school and the local community. This project was to redesign the hill to make it easier to traverse .

Third year- Stimulate simulate project

During this project we were to pick three unused dilapidated sites within Dundee and produce images of them using different media. We were then to take one of our three sites and redevelop the site giving it a new use.
The site I chose was Eadies road Dundee. The site includes two gable ends which I chose to use predominantly within my design

below an aerial view of the site
below photoshop images of the site

I decided to utilise the gable ends that are on the site to create a alfressco movie pod which would project a movie onto the gable end opposite
below images of moving movies pods

Rearranged final boards which were presented at the Freerange Festival in London this year
